The International Center of Photography gave out its 19th annual Infinity awards on May 14 in New York City. The biggest awards went to Bernd and Hilla Becher, while the Cornell Capa Infinity Award was presented to French photographer Marc Riboud. A presentation showed the broad range of Riboud’s work, tracing his career from his first pictures of the Eiffel Tower to his iconic image of an American woman protesting the Vietnam War to his lyrical pictures of children at play. The photographer shed light on his metier when he said that what drew him to China was the fact that it was forbidden. Other award-winners included Alex Majoli for Photojournalism and Jonas Bendiksen for Young Photographer.

Photographers in attendance included Mary Ellen Mark, Bruce Davidson, Martin Parr and Ami Vitale.
